To support our customer and volume growth, we are hiring for various positions in our carrier services department. In this vital and visible part of our company, you will be responsible for making a high volume of outbound calls to new and existing Genpro carriers, sourcing and facilitating haulers, negotiating carrier rates, and developing strong, meaningful carrier relationships.

Ideal candidates should have:

At least 1 year of relevant transportation industry experience, with prior customer service or sales experience.

  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Availability to work alternating Saturdays.

Job Description:

Genpro is actively seeking an experienced and team-oriented business development professional in the logistics industry. This role will play an integral role in the growth of Genpro through the identification, nurturing and closing of prospects and customers. The Business Development Executive will cultivate relationships with a wide range of levels within an organization, and will be responsible for selling a suite of services that meet the logistics needs of our prospects and customers.

In order to expand our success and achieve our ambitious goals for growth, we are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced culture, values long-term stability, and prides themselves on meeting both individual and team objectives.

Ideal candidates should have:

  • A college degree or equivalent related business experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of direct sales experience with an emphasis on developing new accounts. Logistics or supply chain experience a plus.
  • Brings integrity, honesty, and accountability to the table. You follow through with your commitments.
  • Active listener and listen to the customer’s needs. You enjoy developing relationships and interpersonal interactions.
  • A self-starter. Driven by reaching or exceeding numbers and goals
  • You can communicate effectively and concisely (verbal, written, and presentation skills)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Mercury Gate TMS experience a plus
  • Salesforce experience a plus

The successful candidate will:

  • Identify and establish contact with potential customers proactively through effective lead generation methods
  • Meet annual sales goals and targets
  • Ensure effective internal communication with the Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Carrier Sourcing on opportunities, and customer requirements
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts by building strong relationships and identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Develop and execute a strategic business plan to meet/exceed company goals
  • Deep understanding of value-add services, and have a strong ability to demonstrate the benefits and abilities of both to customers
  • Create solutions based on customer needs utilizing our vast portfolio of services
  • Build strong relationships with customers by staying in constant communication to ensure day to day and long term needs are met
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and Genpro best practices to provide solutions and add value and efficiencies within the customer’s supply chain
